As I mentioned in my previous post, my great-aunt passed away last week. The funeral service “celebration of her life” was really quite enjoyable. She had requested not to be eulogized, so that kept things pretty short and upbeat, which I think is rare considering the circumstances. My mother flew out from OKC (that’s a great story in and of itself, but I think she’d prefer that I not share it here), and it was nice to be able to see her along with many of my other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. After the graveside service, we had a luncheon back at the church where we got to hear some amazing stories about her life, some of which were extremely comical. I didn’t make it home in time to play raquetball with my friends, so I just caught up on some sleep and homework instead.
