Well, it’s finally here. Strange to think that it’s taken this long to get a real snowfall here in Provo. Even H-Town has received more snow so far this year than we have. It was actually 46F when I left for work this morning, but it’s already down to 28F as of 11:42am. We were supposed to have our ward Christmas party up in Midway, but it’s been relocated to the bishop’s home instead due to concerns as to the road conditions. I just saw a patrol car headed up the canyon to respond (to an accident, I assume) and the snow has barely begun to fall, so who knows how bad the roads will be by this evening.
I’ll be honest — I’m not a huge fan of snow, perhaps because I’ve grown up in Oklahoma and my family has never really been into skiing. Or perhaps I dislike the stuff because it’s a 15-minute walk to campus from my apartment and very few people actually bother to clear their sidewalks. I recognize that there are a lot of people who do love the snow, however, and as there is nothing I can do either way, I content myself just staying inside where it’s warm and enjoy watching everything turn white outside. Maybe next semester I’ll get some ski gear and a lift pass.
